This holiday season, trade in the snow for sunshine and immerse your family in the rich history of Egypt. Tripora Tours offers exclusive holiday packages designed for families looking to make unforgettable memories.
Discovering Egypt’s Magic
It all began when I decided to break away from our usual holiday routine. “What if we spent Christmas somewhere warm and full of history?” I suggested to my husband. To my surprise, he smiled and replied, “That sounds incredible! Let’s do it!”
Researching family-friendly destinations led us to Tripora Tours, an agency known for their tailored experiences. We quickly settled on the “Pyramids and the Nile at Christmas” package, eager for an adventure that combined culture and relaxation.
Day 1: Arrival in Cairo
After an easy flight, we landed in Cairo, greeted by a friendly Tripora Tours representative. He assisted us with our luggage and cleared the airport formalities swiftly—a blessing when traveling with three kids!
Our stay at the Hilton Pyramids Golf Hotel was the perfect start. The view of the Great Pyramids from our room was enchanting. That evening, we enjoyed a relaxing dinner at the hotel, savoring delicious Egyptian dishes like grilled chicken and kebabs, which the kids absolutely loved.
As we tucked the kids in that night, they couldn’t contain their excitement about seeing the pyramids the next day!
Day 2: Adventure at Giza
We started our second day bright and early, enjoying breakfast before meeting our guide, Ali. His infectious enthusiasm quickly charmed our kids.
The moment we arrived at the Giza Pyramids, our excitement peaked. Standing beneath these ancient wonders felt surreal. Our guide arranged for camel rides, and the laughter of my children filled the air as they posed for photos.
After exploring the Sphinx, we headed to a nearby restaurant for lunch. We indulged in authentic Egyptian dishes like fattah and freshly baked bread—simple yet absolutely delicious.
In the afternoon, we visited the Grand Egyptian Museum. Although only a portion of the museum was open, the grandeur was breathtaking. The kids were captivated by interactive exhibits and the treasures of Tutankhamun.
Day 3: Sailing the Nile
The next morning, we flew to Aswan, where our Nile cruise awaited. Upon boarding the MS Salacia, we were welcomed with refreshing hibiscus juice, setting a warm tone for our journey ahead.
After unpacking, we enjoyed a delightful lunch on board. The Egyptian fare included grilled fish and mezze, which the kids thoroughly enjoyed.
Our first excursion took us to the High Dam and the Unfinished Obelisk. Seeing these ancient constructions up close was a hit with the kids, stimulating their curiosity about Egypt’s history. The highlight was visiting the Temple of Philae, where we reached the island by small boat. Its beauty felt magical—an adventure our children will remember forever.
Day 4: New Year’s Eve Celebration
Waking up on December 31st was filled with excitement. After a hearty breakfast, we set out to visit Kom Ombo Temple, devoted to Sobek and Horus. My kids were particularly fascinated by the crocodile carvings!
Next, we headed to Edfu Temple, enjoying a horse-drawn carriage ride that made us feel like we were in a fairy tale.
That evening, the cruise transformed into a festive venue for New Year’s celebrations, featuring traditional Nubian music and dance performances. As midnight approached, we were surrounded by fireworks reflecting over the Nile. My husband’s arm was around me as we watched our kids clap joyfully—what a perfect way to ring in the New Year!
Day 5: Exploring Luxor
After a celebratory night, we woke up in Luxor eager to explore. Our first stop was the Valley of the Kings, where we stepped into the magnificent burial sites of the pharaohs. The vibrant paintings inside felt like stepping back in time.
Next, we visited the Temple of Hatshepsut. Standing before this architectural marvel, the kids immersed themselves in the tale of the first female pharaoh, their eyes wide with wonder.
Day 6: Last Hurrah in Luxor
Our final full day in Egypt began at Karnak Temple. The sheer size and detail of this site left the kids in awe. Exploring hidden corners, they engaged with the history surrounding them.
In the afternoon, we boarded our flight back to Cairo and checked into the Triumph Luxury Hotel for a relaxing end to our journey. The kids splashed in the pool while sharing their favorite memories of the trip.
Day 7: Farewell to Egypt
On our last morning, we savored our breakfast while reminiscing about our incredible adventure. Before heading to the airport, we stopped for some last-minute shopping at local markets, picking up souvenirs to remember our time in Egypt.
As we waved goodbye to Cairo, I felt grateful for the experiences we had shared. Egypt had not only gifted us a holiday but also memorable moments of laughter, exploration, and family bonding.
